Know your legal rights
Educate yourself about the legal and constitutional rights immigrants have to protect themselves from deportation or abuse. This includes the right to remain silent, the right to a lawyer, the right to demand a warrant, and the right to ask for a bond (if you are detained).
If immigration enforcement:
Shows up at your house: Do NOT open the door. Ask to see the warrant.
Shows up at your work: Do NOT run or try to escape. Stay calm. You still have the right to remain silent and to an attorney.
Detains you in public: Do NOT offer information about your immigration status or country of birth. NEVER carry false documents. Do NOT show them documents from your country of origin (they may use this as a reason to detain you).

You are strong because you have rights, you are informed, and you are in California -- a state that stands with you. You still have the right to education, health care, a driver's license, and bank accounts. This includes legal protections and resources for K-12 & college students, the ability to safely use banking institutions, and access to health care services and insurance.
